At Fine Design Studio, everything we do is guided by three simple beliefs.
Approachable. Good design should never feel out of reach. We work with our clients closely and honestly, making the process as enjoyable as the result.
Stylish. We bring a considered, refined eye to every project, drawing on architecture, materiality, and a deep love of beautiful spaces to create interiors that are elegant without being overdone.
Just a little nostalgic. We are drawn to spaces that feel like they have always been there. To patina, texture, and the quiet charm of things that carry a little history.

Fine Design Studio is a boutique residential interior design studio based in Melbourne, Australia. We enjoy working closely with our clients and as such, only take on a handful of projects each year.
The studio is underpinned by over a decade of experience in high end residential design and a genuine belief that every home deserves to be beautifully designed. That experience spans a wide range of projects, from considered renovations and extensions through to full new builds, always with the same attention to detail and commitment to getting it right.

Melissa Herron Founder & Director
With a Bachelor and Master of Design in Architecture from Deakin University, Melissa brings over a decade of experience in high end residential design to the Fine Design Studio. She is also a current tutor in interior design at RMIT University, remaining closely connected to the ideas and energy shaping the next generation of the industry.
For Melissa, creativity begins with people. Every project starts with a conversation because understanding how someone lives, what they love, and what they want to feel when they come home is what makes the difference between a beautifully designed space and one that is truly theirs.
Melissa is an Accredited Designer Member of the Design Institute of Australia (Membership No. 7541705) and RAIA Graduate Member with the Australian Institute of Architects (Membership ID. 70218).
Mia Design Dog
Mia's days are largely devoted to sleeping, and eating, with the occasional foray into materials testing, a role she takes seriously and entirely on her own terms. If it can survive Mia, it can survive anything. She is also the studio's greatest reminder that at the end of the day, we are designing real homes for real people.
